Sherlock Holmes himself would be in awe of Jess’ innate ability to remember, calculate, tabulate and investigate. A place for everything, and everything in its place. But Jess is no one trick pony. She’s a dab hand at artistic packaging and a damn fine cleaner. Jess other passions are: playing the piano very well indeed and her whippet dogs, who are really quite naughty.

Ross Waters

Founder, managing director, secretary, CEO, master smoker, head cleaner and South African born and raised – Ross spent the first 20 years of his professional career as a diver in the oil and gas industry. Two decades of travelling the world and living at sea for months on end came to a welcome halt when Ross got married and hung up his fins to pursue his true passion and ambition of running his own smokehouse. Wild Smoked was born in March of 2016. Years of amateur curing, smoking and gastronomic experimentation as well as a life time of transcontinental dining has come in handy as Ross creates authentic but innovative flavours in the smokehouse. Ross’ other passions – free diving, archaeology and ancient history.

Alicia Waters

As a globetrotting, jet setting yoga teacher, Ross’ wife Alicia doesn’t have the time to work full time (or even part time) in the smokehouse. But the Wild Smoked team would not be complete without her and the business would not be where it is today without her support, guidance and mentoring. Take a close look at the business and Alicia’s influence is everywhere. From the design and layout of the smokehouse to the artful packaging of our products, her influence is evident in all that we do. Alicia’s other passions are – Paddle boarding, hanging out with her cat and anything to do with sunshine
